Virginia Christian College Partners with Virginia Wesleyan University to Expand Educational Opportunities in Norfolk.

DUMFRIES, VA — Virginia Christian College (VCC) has entered into a groundbreaking shared resources agreement with Virginia Wesleyan University (VWU) to enhance its academic offerings and student experiences in Norfolk, VA. This partnership marks a significant step in VCC’s continued mission to provide exceptional Christian-based higher education with expanded access to premier academic facilities and resources.


The partnership was commemorated with a formal signing event attended by Norfolk Mayor Kenneth C. Alexander, VCC President Courtney McBath, and VWU President Scott D. Miller.


Through the agreement, students enrolled at Virginia Christian College will gain access to state-of-the-art facilities and classroom space on the Virginia Wesleyan University campus located on Wesleyan Drive. Additionally, VCC students will have the option to take select courses both in-person and online through VWU, integrating these opportunities as part of their degree programs.


“This partnership represents a powerful collaboration in higher education,” said Dr. Courtney McBath, President of Virginia Christian College. “By aligning with Virginia Wesleyan University, we are expanding the horizons of learning for our students, providing them with enriched academic resources, modern facilities, and a dynamic environment to prepare them for leadership and success in today’s world.”


Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of Virginia Wesleyan University, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are proud to join forces with Virginia Christian College in this innovative effort. Sharing resources allows both institutions to optimize educational outcomes while fulfilling our shared commitment to academic excellence, accessibility, and service to the community.”


Norfolk Mayor Kenneth C. Alexander commended both institutions for their vision and dedication to the students and the region, emphasizing the role of collaborative partnerships in strengthening higher education and workforce development in the Commonwealth.


The shared resources agreement takes effect immediately, with students from VCC set to begin utilizing VWU’s facilities and course offerings in the upcoming academic term.
